The Club at Nevillewood is a private golf and residential club situated in Presto, Pennsylvania, a short drive from Pittsburgh. Established in 1992, the club's centerpiece is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course widely respected for its strategic layout and challenging play. The Club at Nevillewood offers a comprehensive country club experience with diverse amenities, including an 18-hole championship golf course, that foster a strong sense of community.
Club history
[edit]Jack Nicklaus first came to Collier Township in the late 1980s. Along with his father George, partner Mike Dempster and developer Rick Stambrosky, they built a championship-caliber golf course in the Pittsburgh area surrounded by custom built homes. Close to one million cubic yards of earth was moved to make way for the club, which opened for play in 1992.
From 1998 until 2005, the club was the host site for the annual Mario Lemieux Celebrity Invitational, which was an event on the Celebrity Players Tour. The tournament raised millions of dollars for cancer research over the eight years of the tournament.The streets on the site of the club are named after many of the Jack Nicklaus-designed courses.
Golf Course
[edit]Design: Crafted by legendary golfer and course designer Jack Nicklaus, the 18-hole championship course at Nevillewood stretches over 7,189 yards. The course features rolling terrain, strategically placed bunkers, and water hazards. Nevillewood's par-4 9th hole is a "Bear's Best" selection, recognized as one of Jack Nicklaus's most exceptional designs worldwide. [1]

[edit]The ninth hole at the club was recently named one of the Bear's Best, a collection of the greatest holes that were designed by Jack Nicklaus.
